Whiteface Uphill Bike Race

My older son built this bike. He researched and purchased each part separately over the winter, and had them shipped to the house. When he returned home in May, he found his room filled with boxes of various sizes, each holding a small treasure. He spent the next few weeks assembling it and getting the final components and he finished it just in time for the Whiteface Uphill Bike Race – an 8-mile race up an 8% grade road to the top of one of the Adirondack high peaks. He came in 2nd place in his age group(!), and I earned my participation medal. I’m so grateful to have shared this tough race with him, and all the training rides leading up to it.
